Blame it on the alpine air
At the risk of sounding like a latte-swilling city dweller, the drought and bushfires did have an impact on our recent trip to Bright.
The riders still rode and the runners still ran but the smoke took its toll on us all.
And we had to postpone our lilo / inner tube adventure on the Ovens River- not enough water.
But all jokes aside, the sense of community is tangible. Temperatures in the mid-30s and weeks fighting the fires in the High Country but still the Harrietville CFA manage to turn up at the Sunday market to run a chook raffle and let the kids climb on the truck and take turns spraying each other with the hose.
And, as always, the real highlights of the trip are the unplanned and the unexpected- a platypus swimming in a bend in the river, an afternoon game of backyard cricket and a punnet of fresh blueberries on the way home.
No Worries, my Pleasure…
You can remember today as they day that I made you a little bit happier and your life, a little bit richer. I don’t need you to thank me out loud. Maybe just a little “Thanks” under the breath or in the head. I’ll feel it. And once you watch this little present, you’ll feel it too.
POW!
While we’re at it, for those who are bored with their lives and can afford the accrued eight minutes of distraction (not including loading time), here’s another little treat.
Peace.
Back on
Back on the bike this week for the first time in quite a while (ATB?). School holidays = can ride to work.
Haven’t been back on rock for ages, this clip’s got me thinking though.
